Logan students were locked in their classrooms Wednesday morning after several fights broke out during the morning.

Without saying exactly why, Principal Don Montoya came on the school's public address system at about 11:15 to order teachers to keep students in classes while administrators and several police spotted on campus investigated an unidentified danger.

Warning teachers not to spread rumors, Montoya said he would explain why the lockdown was ordered in a later announcement.

Police responded at about 10:30 when a fight broke out in the 500 building plaza and threatened order at the school.

One student said he saw at least three other fights break out on campus Wednesday.

there's gotta be some kind of weapon, otherwise there wouldn't have been a lockdown
