While other James Logan students were enjoying their furlough day, Logan packed up their uniforms and headed on a 6 hour journey to Los Angeles.
After a long trip Logan checked into their hotel and from there it was all business, Logan was not allowed to leave the hotel, or go swimming, to get them to only focus on what they went there to do — compete.
And compete they did.
Both Logan girls who went were able to place and medal in the top 15. Boys also did a good job with all boys placing in the top 30.
Senior two time 1st place cow bell winner Sarah Perrin said, “it was a good meet. I’m sad it was my last time being able to come here and compete, but I encourage everyone to sign up next year because it is a great experience."
While Logan was at the hotel getting ready for their races, they missed seeing world record holding sprinter Usain Bolt, who was there to promote his new shoes and running gear.
Some of Logan runners ran in the wrong race; some JV boys running varsity and some varsity boys running JV.
“I didn’t really mind running with varsity because I am on varsity. To be honest I didn’t know I was suppose to run with JV until the car ride home when coach Booi told me,” said junior Noel Anyan.
James Logan came to compete against a high level of competition and compete they did despite the confusion of from some of the runners.
