Job Alert! The 2012 summer work permit applications are available to download at the James Logan High School website. The work permit is good June 20th through September 20th. Be sure to read part I for instructions and bring a signed copy of your Social Security Card to the main office receptionist for processing.
A reminder: we can no longer accept checks for the remainder of the school year. All payments must be cash or money orders ONLY.
Are you getting a D or an F this semester? Do you need to make up a class from last semester? Then you need to sign up for summer school! There is still space, but it is filling up fast. Pick up an application in any house office and return it to your counselor….do it soon! Tentative schedules will be mailed in the first week of June. Summer school starts on June 25th and ends on August 2nd. Classes run Monday through Thursday only! See the Logan website for more details. (click on the Summer School link on the homepage)
Looking for a place to do school work? Need help? There’s a place from 9:00-12:00 this Saturday, June 2, in Room 77. Please enter by the carpeted hall near the library.
Willie Latin and Jeff Prothro were crowned North Coast champions on Saturday at Berkeley. Logan has crowned 235 North Coast champions since 1984.
Morgan Jones, Rufus Wollo, Karsten Wethington, Amaris Clay, Atiya Harvey, and Tulat Aleem were all North Coast runner-ups this past Saturday at Berkeley.
Congratulations to Morgan Jones, Atiya Harvey, Rufus Wollo, Amaris Clay, Willie Latin, Tulat Aleem, Jeff Prothro, and Karsten Wethington who qualified for the State Track and Field Meet in Fresno.
Volunteers needed for Kitayama’s first ever school dance on Friday, June 1st, from 5:45-8:00 p.m. For more info check the Logan web site or pick up a flyer in the Career Center.
Students! Yearbooks are finally here. You can pick up your yearbook after school on Thursday, May 31st, in the 300’s courtyard. Please bring your receipt and school I.D. If purchasing a book, only cash and money orders will be accepted. Thank you!
ACTIVITIES
Participate in the James Logan Elite Boys Basketball Camp June 6th to August 10th in the Pavilion. Applications are available in the house offices and Career Center. Eligibility: 9th to 12th grade young men.
Volunteers are needed for the Filipino Independence Festival on June 10th. For details, see Mr. Angeles in House 3.
Participate in the James Logan Boys Basketball Camp – Monday, June 18th to Friday, June 22nd at the Logan Pavilion, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eligibility: 5th to 8th grade young men.
Vocal music spring concert featuring show choir and jazz singers is tomorrow night, June 1, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $12.00 at the door or $10.00 presale. See Ms. McShane for presale tickets.
Anyone interested in cross country, come to a meeting on the track after school on Thursday!

Juniors…..Your prom pictures have finally arrived. Please stop by the Attendance windows at lunch to pick them up.
SENIORS
If you purchased the senior package you still need to get an order form for your senior sweater/shirt combo. Stop by the old attendance windows and fill one out today. If you want to purchase your senior sweater/shirt combo (with names on back) go get a form today.
Senior picnic tickets are also on sale now at lunch at the old attendance windows. It is a $20.00 donation to attend. Get your ticket today.
