Hey everyone!! My name is Lily Chen. Hopefully, most of you have seen my posters around campus or the tags that were distributed around. I am running for the position of Commissioner of Student Services/Clubs.

For those of you who do not know me, which I am sure consists of quite a few students, I would like to introduce myself first. I am currently a junior at Logan, and so there is only one more year before I leave this school. Yet before that time, I hope to do something that is different for once in my life, rather than the everyday uninvolved routine that I have become used to. So I got into contemplating about running for a position, even though I have never campaigned before. Even so, I believe that this experience will be worthwhile. And so, here I am!

To start off with, I will definitely try my very best to meet the needs of all students and whatever else may be necessary if I happen to be elected. I understand that responsibility and organization is a necessity for this position, and so I will make it my priority to commit whatever time that I have to help out and become involved with everyone–whether it be students and/or staff members at our school or the everyday people in our community–in order to create a more lively and positive environment, as well as any aspirations that the school, itself, may have.

I do hope that my incessant talk did not strike you guys as just another replica of any previous commissioner statements (you know, with the “vote for me because I will try my very best sort of thing”), but I think that was inevitable. Nevertheless, I am hoping that something interesting came about from my viewpoint.

Anyhow, I want to tell everyone that whether I win or not, the experience of putting up those posters, making those flyers and tags (even though there was quite an amount of ink spent), and having my friends help me all the way through, was rather fun because I did something that I normally would not think of doing, simply due to being the typical Chinese girl, I guess. But at any rate, I would really appreciate it if I could have your support for the position of Clubs Commissioner. After all, that was the point of writing this, don’t you think so?

Even though I would love to leave it at this, there is still the proper etiquette on my part that needs to be addressed. So, thank you for taking your time to read this, on the assumption that you did.
