This Thursday, Oct. 6th from 12 pm to 12 am is the University of California System Day on the College Week Live website. You’ll be able to connect live with all 9 UC campus admissions officers. For more info on this and other College Day events log onto CollegeWeekLive.com or pick up a flier in the Career Center.

DeVry University will be offering their FREE SAT Review Workshop in time for the November and December test dates. Pick up a flyer in the Career Center, or look online under workshops on Logan’s website.

PSAT ticket sales have been extended to Oct. 10th, and PACT ticket sales until Nov. 7th. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased at the ticket window in the main office.

Universities are continuing to schedule presentation dates here on our campus. It doesn’t get any more convenient than this to find out about a specific school. For the calendar of universities’ visits, go to the James Logan web site and click on college visits under the college and career center link. This week’s visits are Cal Poly SLO and USC. Next week is Mills, UOP and Santa Barbara.

Come cheer on the girls gymnastics team as they compete against American on Thursday, October 6th @ 6 p.m. at Washington High School.

There is a time change in TODAY’S USC presentation taking place in the Career Center. It will be at 10:00 a.m. and NOT at the start of 7th period. Only students who have signed up in advance will be admitted, as this presentation is FULL!

All girls interested in playing basketball, please attend the mandatory meeting after school today in Room 315. Girls open gyms are Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gym.

ACTIVITIES

If you are interested in joining the Wrestling Team but missed the sign-up meeting, you can see Coach Bagaoisan in the Boys P.E. Office, or in the weight room after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the paperwork.

CLUBS

Sikh Forum meets on today after school in Room 442. We will plan our activities for the year and office bearers.

The Filipino Youth Association is meeting this Thursday after school. Come and learn about Filipino culture.

The first Key Club meeting is Thursday after school in Room 303. There will be refreshments, and we will be having our first raffle. We will also discuss our first community service! Bring a friend!

Muslim Student Association will be hosting a potluck on Friday at both lunches. We will send all the money to nations in need, so please come and support!

Seniors: Are you applying to a UC next month? Do you need help or tips on writing your personal statement? Then be sure to sign up in the Career Center for the Personal Statement Workshop here at Logan on Oct. 11th after school.
