MISCELLANEOUS

Attention all students: The Attendance Office is no longer located at the windows in the front office. If you have an attendance issue, report to your House Office.

Parking: Student parking is in the swim center lot, in the spaces marked by white lines only. Parking permits are available at the Main Office window, during posted hours. There is limited staff parking in the new lot next to the Performing Arts Center. Please park in your designated spots. Example: Clerical is reserved for clerical employees only. There are a number of generic staff spots.

All students: If you were issued a locker and you don’t want it or won’t use it, please turn it in to Mrs. Whitaker in the Main Office.
Regular Book Room hours are 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 daily before school, after school and at lunch. Other times not listed you may drop in if you have a pass from your teacher.

Make up pictures will be taken today, Friday, September 10th, beginning at 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Pavilion Foyer. If you have not yet had your picture taken, you must do so at that time.

School year work permits are now available in the Career Center, House 1, 2 & 3 Offices, and online at the Logan website. Summer work permits expire September 20th. Requirement minimum 2.0 GPA and good attendance to qualify for school year work permit. Return to Mr. Richberg in the Career Center office or Room 63.

Students: If you receive free or reduced lunch and have not re-applied this year, you must do so now. You will be dropped in October if you do not re-apply. Applications are available at all snack bars and kitchen.

ACTIVITIES

If you are interested in learning Mexican/Latino Folklorico Dance and would like to join the Ballet Folklorico, orientation meeting is Wednesday, September 8th at 3:45 in the Pavilion Dance Studio. For more info, see Mr. Huertas in House 1.

Cross Country is out and running. Get in shape for the upcoming year. Meet on the track each day!

Open field for Boys’ Soccer is starting September 17th and running every Tuesday and Thursday thereafter from 3:30 – 4:30 on the North Fields. See Coach Williams in Room 302 for more info.

Community service opportunity this coming Saturday (Sept. 11) at the Tropics Mobile Home Park. For more information pick up the pink flyer in the Career Center.
Eastin Elementary is looking for 3 students to help with babysitting during a PTC meeting next Monday, September 13. For more information, see Ms. Hart in the Career Center, or read the notice on the outside Career Center bulletin board (glass case).

Do you want to have some fun? We invite you to join Punjabi Club, which is all about fun. You learn about Punjabi culture at the same time. We will be meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 14th, at 3:45 p.m. in Room 442.

The Roaring Twenties – with flappers, gangsters and jazz – is the setting for Logan Drama’s fall play, “The Taming of the Shrew.” Come and audition for this hilarious Shakespeare comedy like you’ve never seen it done before! Auditions are Tuesday after school in the Drama classroom, Room 722 upstairs in the new Center for the Performing Arts. Prepare 6 – 8 lines from any Shakespeare play. They do not need to be memorized. Questions? See Ms. Hughes.


FRESHMAN

All Freshmen get in free with I.D. to our 1st home football game on Friday, September 17th. J.V. at 4:30 p.m. and Varsity at 7:00 p.m. This is a rematch of last year’s NCS playoff game against Foothill. Hope to see all of you there!

Attention all 9th Graders: Freshman Class elections end today at the end of lunch! If you haven’t done so already, vote for your officers on any computer or mobile device (when allowed) at our election website: http://eduballot.votenet.com/JLHS. A link is also available on our school website under Student Activities ASB. Results will be announced today at 3:25 p.m.

Sophomores: interested in helping make this year’s homecoming float? Please come to the meeting on Wednesday, September 8th, after school in Room 64.
