This weekend the James Logan Forensics Team, coached by Tommie Lindsey Jr., will be sending 54 competitors to the Speech and Debate State Tournament in Bakersfield.

Competitors are able to compete at the State tournament only if they qualified in their event at the State Qualifiers tournament, which was held several weeks ago.


“They’ve worked a lot for this,” says former coach Tim Campbell who still helps members of the team hone their skills, “I think they’ll go out there and do great. They’ll make themselves proud.”

The State Championship award is given to the school who accumulates the most points, which can be received by competitors doing well in each of their respective Speech and Debate events.
