Lucas shifted until he sat next to me. His tall frame, well-muscled but wiry, made me feel small and delicate, and his dark gold hair looked brilliant even in these dingy surroundings. His warmth made me imagine that I was in front of a fireplace in winter. As he put one arm around my shoulders, I rested my aching head against him and closed my eyes. That way I could pretend that there weren't a couple dozen people around us, talking and laughing. That we weren't in some grey, ugly warehouse that smelled like rubber. That there was nobody in the world but Lucas and me. Into my ear, he murmured, "I'm worried about you.' "I'm worried about me too.' "Lockdown's not going to go on much longer. Then we can get you some---something to eat, I mean---and you and I can figure out what to do next.

That short excerpt is from the third book in Claudia Gray's Evernight series, which follows the adventures of young students attending a high school for vampires. This came out on March 9th.

If I could sum up this book in one word I would go with "fascinating."
In Stargazer, the second in the series, we left off with Bianca, the protagonist, running off with her love interest, Lucas, Raquel, and the Black Cross. Raquel is most delighted with the turn out. She is thrilled to be taking down the vampires now instead of the other way around.

Bianca on the other hand is not happy at all. She's happy to be with Lucas but since she's around vampire hunters she has to struggle to keep moving forward. (Since she cannot drink blood.) She won't blow her cover though but she also won't take down her brethren unless totally necessary.

Lucas is worried about Bianca and her low blood supply. He tells her once he saves up enough money they can run away together and never look back. This idea thrills Bianca and she'll do whatever she must to make sure it happens.

But once her secret leaks out Lucas and Bianca will have to take drastic measures and escape the Black Cross and leave before they can find them. But with little money they wont have much to work with.

This book has a MAJOR cliffhanger. You're going to want to get the next book immediately but it won't is out for a while.

I think everything that happened in this book was simply amazing. I won't even lie to you guys, it made me cry and once you read it you'll see why.

So next time you're looking for a very good book check out the Evernight series!
