LOV Newark needs 67 volunteers to help at their annual Elegant Affair on Friday, February 12th. For more information, check your Logan e-mail or pick up a blue flyer in the Career Center.

Credit Recovery is here! If you need to make up credits, we have two after-school credit recovery classes starting the week of February 8th. The two classes are Drawing with Mr. Kolesnikov, and Creative Writing with Mr. Seaton. The classes run 3:45 – 5:15 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and are worth 5 credits each. If you’re interested, pick up an application from the counseling office or your house office.

Volunteers needed Saturday, February 6th at the Tropics Mobile Home Park to help pick oranges for a local food bank. Info flyers available in the Career Center or on your Logan e-mail.

Drop-In homework/tutoring in Room 77. Daily before school 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., Tuesday-Friday 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Need Drivers Education? Your place is the Adult School! Cost is $125. April 5, 6 & 7, M – W, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applications are now available in your house office or see Mr. Caruso in Room 77 for both an application and details. Hurry, classes fill up fast!

Students, please turn in 1st semester textbooks that you no longer need by Friday, February 12th. Anything not returned by that date will be billed.

Congratulations to the J.V. and Varsity Teams for winning both of their Dual Meets on Wednesday night. The Varsity beat Kennedy 69-3, and Washington 76-3. The J.V. team beat Kennedy 66-0 and Washington 72-0.

ACTIVITIES

Come see the Olympians on February 13th at Logan. Crazy George will be in attendance.

Come watch the Varsity Wrestling Team at the Mission San Jose Invitational this Friday and Saturday. Wrestling starts at 9:00 a.m. both days.

Boys Volleyball Team, turn in your paperwork to Coach Burmaster in the Boys’ P.E. Office today! Tryouts will start on Monday, 2/8/10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Pavilion. No paperwork, no tryout. Get that paperwork turned in today! Thank you!

Next year’s Football Season begins with an informational parent meeting in the Student Union on Wednesday, February 10th at 6:30 pm. Spring football dates and other important information will be discussed. See Coach Zuber in room 306 for a flyer.


SENIORS

Seniors: The New Haven Foundation scholarships are due to arrive in the Career Center on Tuesday, February 2nd. In the meantime, read your Logan e-mail, review and print the scholarship list so you will know which scholarship applications to pick up. Remember, these are scholarships that are FOR LOGAN SENIORS ONLY, NO OUTSIDE COMPETITION! WOOHOO!

Seniors, want to participate in senior activities? Then don’t get on Exclusion for a debt, suspension, 15 tardies, or 8 period cuts. You also need 20 hours of Community Service by April 30th.
