For the first time ever, the James Logan Girl’s Varsity Volleyball Team will be hosting a match in honor of the nation-wide Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Although it may cost a few bucks out of your pocket to watch the match, the money will be going to a foundation that helps finds solutions to this breast cancer epidemic; donations are gladly accepted as well.
In memory of this event, our girl’s will be sporting pink jerseys during their match instead of their normal uniforms. Tomorrow is not only something that our girl’s are doing out of the kindness of their heart, but the effects of breast cancer hits pretty close to home. One volleyball player in particular has experienced the tragedy of losing to someone from breast cancer. Not only is this match bound to warm the hearts of the audience, it will be adrenaline filled as our girl’s will fight with blood, sweat, and tears.
Logan’s Girl’s Volleyball will be facing long time rival the Washington Huskies. After successfully defeating Mission San Jose last Tuesday, Washington at this moment is feeling pretty great. “Tomorrow’s match is going to be a tough one,” claims Head Coach Mike Soltau. “But with our team back to its normal edge, we feel very confidant as well.” For the first half of the season, the girl’s dealt with injuries that caused two seniors to be out for a few weeks.
Indeed this match is going to be very exciting, but this is also to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month. (yuckie…) Come support your Lady Colts for this is a moment you will never forget. Junior Varsity will start at approximately 3:45 and Varsity will follow immediately after.
