Domination. That is the word that summarizes the Colts play on Friday night. We were victorious over Irvington by a score of 36-6. This was a great way to open up our league schedule.

Unfortunately, the game didn't start off too well for us. On our first drive we threw an interception when we were threatening to score. On our next possession, we threw another interception when we were in the red zone. Luckily for us our defense stepped up this week and got our offense the ball back quickly. Then our offense started to click. On the next possession RB Victor Johnson ran the ball in for a touchdown from 32 yards out.

The offense led by QB Jonathon Willis continued to put up points throughout the second quarter. Joey Castro and Dom Godfrey both had touchdown runs that put the game out of reach. Jonathon Willis put the nail in the coffin when he scored on a quarterback keeper.

Not be outdone, the defense stepped up their game as well. As a team we were giving up over 300 yards of offense per game. We came into this game with a chip on our shoulder and held Irvington to under 150 yards of total offense. Joey Castro picked off a ball and almost returned it for a touchdown. The score was 29-0 at the half.

It was nice to see our second team players compete and play. For some of them it was the first time they had played all year. They took the intensity from the first half and carried it into the second and played a very good half of football.

Our next opponent is Newark Memorial. This is one of our rivalry games. The series over the last few years has been dominated by Logan but they have all been close games. Newark has a very physical defense and we have a very potent offense.

It'€™s also our last home game for four weeks so come out and support your Colts.
