
Logan got the big win they needed Saturday on the last game of the regular season to keep their postseason hopes alive.
Logan (5-5, 5-1) got the scoring going early against Irvington (4-6, 2-4) when Kyle Lopez took a handoff 18-yards for the score. On the next drive, quarterback Jonathon Willis turned a scramble into a 30-yard run that resulted in a touchdown. Nate Medhane got into the mix, when Willis him hit for a 27 –yard touchdown pass.
Logan went into the half feeling good about themselves, leading 28-0. Even with the big lead, Logan continued their scoring in the second half, when Joe Mestre rumbled into the end zone from the goal line. Willis, who already had a rushing touchdown and two passing touchdowns, added another one, when he hit Medhane for his second touchdown of the night. Logan would go on win in a blow out 40-0.
Jonathon Willis and Nate Medhane were the top performers. Willis had four total touchdowns, three passing and one rushing. Medhane was able to catch two of Willis’s three touchdowns. He finished with 45-yards and two touchdowns.
Logan will have to wait until the seeding meeting today to see if they make it to the North Coast Section playoffs with an at-large bid. Right now they are competing with College Park and Newark for the last spot in NCS.
