The gaming industry still continues to get us to pony up the big bucks for their products, as some bids for Halo 3 are reported to go up to $300. The Nintendo Wii still continues to sell out its stock right after the fresh shipments. Even now, it’s hard to tell where the manufacturers stand, whether they're moving toward the head of the pack, or being left in the dust.
In order to get another opinion, I went to Logan senior Osman Rahimi, a veteran gamer who has experienced all three of the new systems. He concluded that "The Wii is definitely in the lead in terms of overall fun. The gaming experience itself is so surreal and like nothing I had ever felt before. Its almost as if you're actually in the game. I am also pleased with my Xbox 360, but I definitely plan on getting the Wii soon."
I asked another fellow gamer, junior V.J. Gonzales, his opinioni. “I love the Xbox 360. There are so many great games for it, along with the amazing game play and graphics. The PS3 is great but there aren’t as many games as my Xbox.”
The Wii and Xbox 360 are both great consoles and are doing better sales-wise than the PS3. However, what people don’t know is that the PlayStation 3 is a sleeping Behemoth (an enormous ancient goblin-like creature), and when it wakes up, Sony is going to blow the competition out of the water. People have lost sight of the amazing potential the PS3 has held since the day it hit the stores.
They're also forgetting that Microsoft just released Halo which was its strongest card, and Sony has only started showing its trailers and clips of its powerhouses. People are forgetting Final Fantasy has two different versus of the next sequel, Final Fantasy Thirteen and Versus Thirteen. Not to mention that Kingdom Hearts, AND God of War, are finishing up their Trilogies which will probably make Halo sales look like chump change.
People are forgetting that the best is yet to come.
