Logan Teacher Francis Rojas has taken over for Cheryl Kuhlmann, who retired as Leadership teacher last year after decades of service.

"I feel very lucky to have this position," said Rojas.

He was at first extremely nervous when taking over the new position since he knew that he had big shoes to fill. "All the responsibilities were overwhelming but now as everything is beginning to settle down I am very excited," said Rojas.

His schedule is very hectic considering he still teaches two periods of biology, all in the same classroom as leadership. " The classroom is utter chaos at the moment, but we still are able to get what we need to get done," he said.

Rojas said he wants Leadership to present more meaningful activities for students, and more rallies. "There are going to be a lot more rallies this year; I am hoping for at least one or two a month," he said.

The main goal of leadership this year is to have all the students at Logan feel more involved, he said.

"It's hard to compare the two teachers because they both have their own styles, but Mrs. Kuhlmann was a great teacher, almost like a mother to us students. But all of us have hope in Mr. Rojas and know that he is a great teacher and helps us have a better group for leadership," said Angelica Chandra.
