Some clubs drew a crowd.

Though some of the tables set up at Wednesday's Club Recruitment Fair to lure new members to Logan's many student clubs looked bleak and empty, a closer inspection showed that the sign-up sheets for many of the clubs were filled with the names of interested students.

A few of the tables gave out candy and food in order to attract the crowds, improving their chances of success.

The purpose of the annual Club Recruitment Faire is to bring together the various clubs established at Logan in order to recruit new members for the upcoming school year. Held on Wednesday during both 4th and 5th lunch, clubs set up tables decorated with paper banners emblazoned with the clubs' names to attract possible new recruits.

The fair consisted of a few mainstay clubs such as the Leo Club, and Hope Connections, looking to find the future’s next committed leaders.

“Freshmen and underclassmen are our main target right now.” said Alvin Ngo of the Leo Club.

New clubs also showed up to try their luck.

Joseph Rodriguez, a sophomore, and the president of the newly formed Garden Club, said he plans for the club to do various planting around the school. However, “The main project this year is to garden around the Staff Lounge.”

Rodriguez said the club's station at the fair had netted “a lot of ‘maybe’ signups”, and that “many people seem interested.”

Comments

Thank you for this coverage, and thanks to all those who participated in the recruitment fair! Our clubs did get pages of names of prospective members.

ASB Leadership is still working on updating our clubs list (active/inactive, advisiors, meeting times and place). Hopefully by the end of next week, we'll have a complete list available at all house offices for students who are still interested in joining our school's vairous clubs.
